| The Doors 'Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine' RIAA Gold LP Record Award Plaque |

| 'The Doors 'Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine' RIAA Gold LP Record Award Plaque (16"x20")
'Weird Scenes' is a very interesting double LP retrospective that came out two years after Jim Morrison's death. It contained the first album release of two B-sides, Willie Dixon's "(You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further," sung by Ray Manzarek, originally on the flip side of the 1971 45 "Love Her Madly," and the beautiful "Who Scared You," "Wishful Sinful"'s flip with Jim Morrison on vocals from a session in 1969. I get about 5 emails a month asking when the CD version of this album will come out. At this point, it doesn't look like it ever will. This beautiful presentation plaque is framed in gold! It includes a small facimile of The Doors 'Weird Scenes' album cover, a gold engraved plate with the RIAA logo, and of course, the gold album. If this same plaque had been made out to Elektra or the Doors, it would be selling for upwards of $2,000+. This one, however, is priced at about one-half because it was presented instead to an unknown radio executive. Regardless, it is the perfect thing to top off your den or Doors room. It will proudly hang in my front room until it is sold. The condition is M- showing only minor wear.

| The Doors 'Strange Days' Elektra Gold LP Record Sales Award Plaque |

| The Doors 'Strange Days' Elektra Gold LP Record Sales Award Plaque (16"x20")
'Strange Days' was #3 in the US in 1967 and by early 1968 had made Gold. Many feel the songs on "Strange Days" are some of The Doors' darkest imagery - it is certainly their most psychedelic album. This 40 year old vintage plaque was presented to Tower Records on January 12, 1968 for their help achieving this goal. It is definitely one of the earliest awards we have ever gotten in. It has the original cheese clothe backing that they first used, as well as a wooden frame - both these features were done away with in future awards. It will proudly hang in my Doors room until it is sold. The condition is Exc+ with the only minor signed of wear. For its age, it is outstanding!

| The Doors 'Morrison Hotel' Elektra Gold LP Record Sales Award Plaque |

| The Doors 'Morrison Hotel' Elektra Gold LP Record Sales Award Plaque (16"x20")
Morrison Hotel was the next-to-last Doors album, recorded prior to Jim Morrison's still mystery-shrouded death in a Parisian bathtub. It carried much of the band's previous penchant for baroque musical, poetic, and philosophical pretensions (this was, after all, the back-to-roots era of the Beatles, the Stones, and Dylan. Instead, the Doors in 1970 wisely seeped themselves in a bluesy, no-frills approach that might have hinted at creative exhaustion in a lesser band. Instead, the Doors through "Roadhouse Blues" and "Peace Frog" reinvented themselves into arguably one of the greatest bar bands ever. Morrison Hotel is my personal favorite Doors album. It's hard to part with this one. This beautiful presentation plaque was presented to the Record Archive, a now defunct record store for it's help with record sales. It is framed in gold and includes a small facsimile of The Doors 'Morrison Hotel' album cover, a gold engraved plate with the Elektra logo, and of course, the gold album all in front of a cheese cloth background. The condition is M- showing only minor wear. PLEASE CLICK HERE

The Doors Official Gold Record Plaques
|
|
The Limited Edition Doors plaques listed below have now been out of production for over a year and are getting very scarce. The demand for these plaques is still just as great as ever - the bad news: that is why their prices are higher than other California Gold plaques that we offer elsewhere on our site. The good news: We believe these are a very sound investment for those same reasons.

| The Doors S/T Gold LP Record Plaque |

| 'The Doors' S/T Gold LP Record Plaque (20"x24") This was the first experimental plaque that The Doors put together with California Gold. It was limited in production to only 500 numbered pieces - this one is #405. The edition sold out in (pardon the pun) record time thereby leading to the other record plaque releases below. The Doors Collectors Magazine is proud to have helped in production of this plaque by providing the original gold label LP Doors album which was scanned and used for the record label in these releases. Each of these plaques contain a 24 kt gold plated LP record, a small facsimile of the the Doors first album cover, a matted card which is hand signed by the three surviving Doors (as well as a facsimile of Jim Morrison's signature), and a gold plate which states the edition number. They are officially released by The Doors and have become very rare since they sold out - especially since this was the only release with the signatures and 'The Doors' across the front glass. It comes complete with the original certificate of authenticity & guarantee that this certified 24 karat gold record of The Doors is one of a Limited Edition of 500. Cond: Exc!
