| 'The Beatles' An Authorized Biography by Hunter Davies |
 | 'The Beatles' An Authorized Biography by Hunter Davies Hard cover w/ dust jacket.
This is the only biography authorized by the Beatles themselves, and it gives a detailed account of the rise to fame of the Fab Four, and many details of each band member's life. Despite glossing over a few negative points, Davies had access to information that no other writer had, and no doubt the book benefits from that despite its being slightly sanitized.
One thing that distinguises this book from all the other bios is Davies spent a year living and travelling with the Beatles and observing them in their day-to-day lives. The year was 1967, and although the group was soon to break-up, 1967 was still a great year for the band and Davies gives many fine insights and details into the life of the group during this period. Davies enlivens the account with anecdotes and stories from many relatives and friends who knew the Beatles best.

| 'Listen to These Pictures - Photographs of John Lennon' by Bob Gruen |
 | 'Listen to These Pictures - Photographs of John Lennon' by Bob Gruen Hard cover w/ dust jacket.
Incredibly rare Lennon photos fill this hard to find book! It is an excellent effort and a worthy purchase for die hard Beatles fans. So many Beatles-related books trot out the same photos, again and again. You all know the ones I'm talking about. But this book is decidedly and refreshingly different. The paper quality in the book is exceptional and is thick, glossy material which results in a stunning display of black and white vibrancy. The text is incidental but adds flavor and gives you the year each photo was taken. Cond: Exc+. |

| 'The Beatles Forever' by Nicholas Schaffner |
 | 'The Beatles Forever' by Nicholas Schaffner Soft cover. Tons of photos!
Nick Schaffner has done a superb job of sharing his personal love for the Beatles from both an objective and subjective standpoint. Not only does he make personal references in regards to the Beatles, but he also details the history of the band and the recordings they had released up until this book was published. There isn't a Beatles book around that contains the enthusiasm, accessibility, and dramatic style that his does. It is free from alot of the self-proclaimed importance of many other Beatles works, and yet it doesn't advertise itself as anything more than a devoted fan tribute. Cond: Exc+. |

| 'John Lennon - My Brother' by his sister, Julia Baird |
 | 'John Lennon - My Brother' by his sister, Julia Baird Hard cover w/ dust jacket.
A very interesting book about John Lennon as a family man. His sister Julia tells all the truth about the relationships between John and his mother, his stepfather, his little sisters, the tragedy when their mother was killed by a drunk policeman, and the beginnings of the group that four years later became the greatest phenomenon of the popular music, The Beatles. Also, Julia remembers for us, the phone conversations with him in the late 70s, close to his death, and the feelings of all family when John was tragically killed by the gun of a man who was, ironically, a Beatles fan. A great book!

| 'Skywriting By Word of Mouth' by John Lennon |
 | 'Skywriting By Word of Mouth' by John Lennon Hard cover. John Lennon wrote Skywriting by Word of Mouth, an impressive collection of writings and drawings, while Yoko was pregnant with Sean, and always planned to have it published. It was a wish that seemed to end with his assassination in 1980 and the subsequent theft of the manuscript from the Lennons' home in 1982. When it was recovered and first published in 1986, Skywriting received immediate critical and popular acclaim. Written in Lennon's extraordinary voice, and lavishly illustrated with his own drawings, the collection reveals his fertile creative spirit up close and in full force. Included in Skywriting is Two Virgins, written when the public learned that John and Yoko were living together as husband and wife, and John's only autobiography. In addition there are notes on his falling in love with Yoko, the breakup of the Beatles, his persecution by the U.S. authorities and his withdrawal from public life. This is a book with John Lennon's spirit on every page - a spirit the world needs to remember. Cond: Exc+. |

| 'Yoko Ono' by Jerry Hopkins |
 | 'Yoko Ono' by Jerry Hopkins Out of print. Hard cover w/ dust jacket.
Most biographies of John Lennon portray Yoko Ono as cold and manipulative...and Hopkins (co-author of No One Here Gets Out Alive) describes many incidents that support that point of view. However, his even-handed account of Ono's life shows other qualities, as wellsome endearing, some puzzling. Ono's Japanese childhood, which spanned World War II and included both enormous wealth and extreme poverty, is intriguing, as is her evolution from Sarah Lawrence student to avant-garde artist to pop star. Hopkins interviewed many insiders in order to expand on or correct tales told by other Lennon-Ono biographers and sometimes by John and Yoko themselves. He recounts some of the bizarre events that have occurred since Lennon's death, as well as outlandish behavior from the couple's years together. A complex, inconclusive, and sometimes sensational portrait.
